SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — You would have thought it was a typical Monday-after-a-weekend Sioux Falls Police briefing instead of a Tuesday with all the weirdness that went on in the last 24 hours!
YET ANOTHER SHOTS FIRED INCIDENT
Sioux Falls Police are investigating another shots fired incident.
This one happened Monday night in the 2900 block of East 26th Street in a parking lot.
Witnesses say a man with a gun was standing on the perimeter of the parking lot and shooting at a car.
The car drove away and police say the occupants did not report it.
Police recovered six shell casings.
No one was injured.
MEN WITH A BAT AND A MEAT CLEAVER
Two men who were armed with a baseball bat and a meat cleaver are in jail in Sioux Falls after threatening a group of teenagers.
Sioux Falls Police say the men were in a van that drove by five teens in the 3rd and Prairie area Monday.
One of the teens made a gesture to the van.
The van stopped and the men got out, one with a bat and another with a cleaver.
A police officer was nearby and saw the incident.
Arrested on aggravated assault charges are Julius Ray High Bear, 27, and Malcolm Xavier Lofton, 21, both from Sioux Falls.
No one was hurt.
THREE DAMAGED CARS, A DRUNK MOTHER, AND A BABY LEFT IN A VEHICLE
Sioux Falls Police are investigating an accident where a woman was speeding near 6th and Phillips, hit three cars, left the scene with three of her kids, and left a two-week old baby behind in her SUV.
Lenora Winona Urruela-Garcia, 38, from Sioux Falls, is charged with a number of crimes, including DWI, vehicular battery, and abuse or cruelty to a child.
Besides the two-week-old baby she left in the car in the accident, she attempted to leave the scene with a 1-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy, and a 6-year-old boy.
Witnesses estimated she was going 55 in a 20 mph zone.
