SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Consideration of 3 medical marijuana ordinances led to an extra-long City Council meeting. The council heard public input from more than 20 people. The majority of those speaking were opposed to the proposals in front of the council, including a limit of 5 medical cannabis dispensaries within the city and a $100,000 licensing fee. Several suggested the proposal was an effort to restrict access in violation of the will of the voters
The lone supporter of the ordinances was a member of the South Dakota medical community.
The council advanced all three ordinances to second reading will be September 7th
