SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are Wednesday’s highlights from the Sioux Falls police briefing.
SHOTS FIRED AT HOUSE AND CAR
Sioux Falls Police are investigating shots fired early Wednesday morning in the 1400 block of Annway Drive.
Officer Sam Clemens says police found six shell casings.
Someone had shot at the house and a car in the driveway.
No one was injured.
Clemens says they aren’t sure if the people in the residence were targeted or not.
BAD GUY ATTACKS WOMAN, GOOD GUY COMES TO THE RESCUE
A Sioux Falls man sits in jail on aggravated assault charges after he put a woman in a headlock and tried to slash her rescuer with a knife early Wednesday morning.
Victor Joseph Winters, 48, is accused of going into a motel room in the 38th and Carolyn area, put the woman in the hold, then swung a knife at a man protecting her.
The woman was unharmed.
The Good Samaritan sustained a slight cut to his lip.
STILL MORE UNLOCKED VEHICLES
There was a rash of unlocked cars over the long Memorial Day weekend.
Police say one gun was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
BIKES STOLEN FROM APARTMENT GARAGE
A number of bicycles were stolen recently from an apartment garage on East Sunrise Place in Sioux Falls.
The police say they don’t have any suspects yet.
