SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –Here are a couple of the bigger stories from Friday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
NO NEW TIPS ON BOOZE AND CIGS BURGLARIES
Sioux Falls Police say they have received no new tips in burglaries this week at Williquors and Rollin Smoke.
The culprit stole over $29,000 in high-end booze and smokes.
Police ask that you contact Crimestoppers if you know anything that might help authorities solve the crimes.
BEWARE WHEN YOU BUY FROM ONLINE SELLERS
If you buy online from individuals, the Sioux Falls Police cautions that you make sure you have your merchandise before you pay.
Officer Sam Clemens says they don’t get many reports of people being ripped off on eBay or Facebook Marketplace, but it does happen.
He says what happens in these situations is that once you send the money and the stuff doesn’t arrive, the seller will then block the buyer.
That leaves the buyer with little recourse.
Clemens suggests not sending money from Venmo or other means until you get the goods.
