NWS Warnings and Advisories map, 5/6/21.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The National Weather Service has placed much of the area north of Sioux Falls under a Frost Advisory Thursday night.
The NWS says the Sioux Falls metro could experience patchy frost.
The NWS’s Frost Advisory:
…FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 8 AM CDT FRIDAY (See map at right)…
* WHAT…Temperatures in the low to mid 30s may result in frost formation.
* WHERE…Portions of central and east central South Dakota and southwest Minnesota. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Nation.
* WHEN…From 3 AM to 8 AM CDT Friday.
* IMPACTS…Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
