SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Temperatures are expected to soar in the Sioux Falls area Monday. Combined with wind gusts and low humidity, that raises the risk of grass fires.
A high of 86 degrees is expected in Sioux Falls Monday, along with wind gusts of about 30 mph.
The National Weather Service is urging people to be careful — if you were planning on burning something outside, try to do it on a different day.
Just last week a grass fire in Volga was traced to a landowner burning a pile of branches. That was also a day with high fire risk.
🌡️ High temperatures 81-91 degrees.
🌬️ South winds gusting 25-30 mph.
🌵 Minimum Relative Humidity 15-35%
🔥 These are the ingredients for a HIGH to VERY HIGH fire danger Monday afternoon! Please be very careful, or postpone outdoor burning.
