SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The University of South Dakota is on track for an in-person graduation this spring.
USD President Sheila Gestring said the graduation will be moved to the Dakotadome “so we can spread out a bit further.” She said the new sound system in the recently renovated facility will improve the experience.
USD students are due back from spring break this week. Gestring said the school has avoided a major COVID-19 flare-up with the help of the state health department.
“I think it’s been a huge team effort, obviously on campus, but also with the Department of Health. They’ve just been a tremendous partner,” Gestring said.
The state is paying for testing and providing kits to South Dakota universities.
Graduation is tentatively scheduled for May 8.
