SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Fire Rescue respond to a house fire Sunday morning with a report of occupants still inside.
When the crews arrived smoke and flames were coming from the lower level in the 3800 block of E. 12th Street at 8:35 Sunday morning. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes.
A search of the home found no occupants, but the family’s cat was found and brought out safely.
There were no injuries to residents or responders.
The home sustained fire damage to the basement area and smoke damage throughout.

On Sunday, October 4, 2020 at approximately 8:35 a.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 3800 block of E. 12th St. with a report of occupants still inside.
First arriving fire crews reported smoke coming from the lower level of the residence. Crews made entry into the home and found smoke and flames coming from the lower level. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes of arrival. A search of the home found no occupants inside but crews were able to locate a family pet and bring the cat out safely. Crews remained on scene to overhaul and ventilate the home to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. The home did sustain fire damage to the basement area and smoke damage throughout. There were no reported injuries to residents or responders.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 4 fire apparatus, 3 support units and 19 firefighters. The home did not have a residential sprinkler system. The fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by SFPD, Animal Control, PCLS, and Metro Communications.
