SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg’s spokesman has provided KELO.com News with additional information with the fatal accident the AG was involved in Saturday night near Highmore.
Tim Bormann replied via email to KELO.com News’ questions. Here are his responses:
The AG was the sole occupant of his vehicle, there was no one with him.
The AG made the 911 call at approximately 10:24 pm.
The Hyde County Sheriff arrived shortly following the 911 call and I really cannot comment on what occurred as I do not have details.
While the AG will have the occasional drink it has always been his practice, since his time as a candidate, to not drink at Lincoln Day events and he continued that trend on Saturday.
The AG has not retained legal counsel in this matter.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says they will issue a media release sometime Monday with additional information. The department says a lot of information is still under investigation.
Some other media has reported the name and hometown of the man killed in the accident. KELO.com News has not been able to independently confirm those reports yet.
