SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A former player is suing the Canaries baseball team and the City of Sioux Falls.
The complaint alleges that Chris Grayson was hit by a foul ball in the right eye as he sat in the Canaries dugout because the protective fence was defective.
Grayson is blind in the right eye as a result of the 2018 accident.
The lawsuit claims the ball came through a hole in the fence, and that the fence could have been fixed for $5. The suit holds both the team and the city responsible.
Neither the city nor the Canaries will comment on the pending litigation.
