SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It may be the week of Thanksgiving… but it’s officially the start of Christmas in the Sioux Empire!
101.9 KELO-FM has flipped the switch to continuous Christmas music… which means it is officially the holiday season for the greater Sioux Falls area. KELO-FM made its annual switch to Christmas music Monday, Nov. 25th, at midnight.
“101.9 KELO-FM Christmas Music has become a tradition in The Sioux Empire and listeners have been anticipating the switch for months,” said Tom Gjerdrum, Operations Manager for Midwest Communications, Sioux Falls. Christmas Music crosses all generations and KELO-FM is proud to continue to be part of the holiday tradition again this year.”
It’s a Sioux Empire tradition that many long-time residents look forward to as 101.9 KELO-FM flips the switch to Christmas music with Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” The long-running Christmas themed music and stories program “A Prairie Christmas” hosted by Jeff Gould will air 1 pm – 3 pm starting the day after Thanksgiving running every day through Christmas Eve on 101.9 KELO-FM. “A Prairie Christmas” can also be heard Saturday’s from 3 pm – 6 pm on KELO News Talk 1320 AM, 107.9 and 105.1 FM.
