PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem is upping the stakes in a dispute with two Native American tribes regarding checkpoints.
She’s asked the tribes to remove check-points on state and federal highways that cross their reservations.
The Governor asked the attorney general to investigate the check-points.
She’s sending the evidence to the White House, Departments of Justice and Interior, and the state’s Congressional delegation asking for assistance in resolving the issue.

The Oglala Sioux and Cheyenne River Sioux are standing firm with their checkpoints.
