PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Pierre Police Department held its annual ceremony at South Dakota’s Law Enforcement memorial honoring officers killed in the line of duty Wednesday.
The ceremony typically draws more than 100 officers from across the state, but was held without spectators due to the pandemic.
Pastor Craig Wexler, the chaplain of the Pierre Police Department, played taps and offered a few words.
“We give thanks for the lives who served so faithfully in service and in duty,” he said.
