SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Shopping at your local Walgreens is the same as it ever was–except for one big difference.
As The Police sang, “Don’t stand so close to me.”
The aisles at the Minnesota Avenue Walgreens are full of the usual goods you find at a Walgreens–except toilet paper, Chlorox wipes, and, surprisingly, chewable Vitamin C gummies. All the other stuff is there–batteries, cold potions, hair goods, and now, Easter candies.
A few clerks in trademark Columbia blue Walgreens smocks roam the store helping customers.
But it’s at check out where things are very different.
First, there’s a big sign about maintaining a six-foot social distance from customers, patients (in the pharmacy) and employees.
Then to help do that, there are boxes in blue tape on the store floor–all six feet apart–where you are stand when you check out–including at the check out counter.
The clerk KELO.com News spoke with said they are busy “off and on.” At about 2 p.m. today, they were moderately busy.
So, at least at one semi-big box store, commerce, coronavirus, and social distancing were all co-existing without too much trouble.
