PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem is asking that all South Dakota schools remain closed until at least May 1.
The extension will give health officials to get a handle on the COVID-19 curve.
The State will re-evaluate in the coming weeks to see if the extension needs to be extended.
Noem praised teachers across the state for coming up with novel ways to continue the education of children during the closing.
Many school districts, including Sioux Falls, are doing remote learning with the kids.
