SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Empire Mall in Sioux Falls is closing because of the coronavirus.
Its owner, the Simon Property Group, is closing over 200 malls and outlets around the country.
South Dakota’s largest mall will stay closed through March 29th, according to the company press release.
“The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” says David Simon, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Simon.
The Empire Mall, the biggest between Denver and the Twin Cities has over 150 stores.
