The South Dakota high schol state hockey tournament is postponed.
The decision made over an hour after all prep state basketball tournaments were shut down, per request of Gov. Kristi Noem.
Unlike state hoops, state hockey is not sanctioned by the South Dakota High School Activies Association.
The South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association runs state hockey and posted a one sentence statement on its website’s front page:
“In keeping with Governor Noems request for cancellation of all High School Tournaments, the State Boy’s Varsity Tournament has been postponed until further notice!”
