SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.COM) — Augustana University in Sioux Falls is extending its spring break another week amid the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
Students of the university have been on break since March 7 with classes set to resume Monday. But the school administration has made the decision to cancel classes until at least March 20, according to a news release.
Classes are planned to resume on March 23.
Augustana posted this on Facebook: “Augustana continues to monitor the evolving situation related to the spread of COVID-19, its impact in South Dakota and across the country. Our concern for the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority.
We will be providing daily updates at augie.edu/coronavirus.”
The University of Sioux Falls posted this on their website: “At this time, current plans are to resume with normal class schedules on Monday, March 16th while campus efforts to promote good health habits and other preventive measures will continue in earnest.”
