PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — There are three more coronavirus cases in South Dakota, making a total of eight, so far.
Governor Kristi Noem gave the updated total at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
“We’ve had 27 negative tests come back. We’ve had eight, now, positive tests, and we have 11 tests still pending.”
Two of the new cases are in Minnehaha County. That makes a total of three in Minnehaha.
Noem is asking South Dakotans to avoid crowds to help slow down the transmission of the disease.
“We would encourage folks to be safe, make wise decisions. If they don’t have to go to a big event, then go ahead and stay home.”
She asking for people to use common sense at this weekend’s high school basketball tournaments. If you are elderly, if you are older, or if you have existing health conditions, the Governor encourages you to stay home.
