RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO.com) — A sad situation in Pennington County.
Two Pennington County Sheriff’s Office employees lost their one-year-old son after he suffered a cardiac event at home.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office posted this on their Facebook page: “They could not save Christopher but he was able to donate five of his organs and save the lives of others in need.”
Brett Casey and his wife Murphy are receiving support from the surrounding community and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office to help ease the financial burden of losing their son Christopher.
A pizza/bake sale fundraiser will be held Monday, March 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the food runs out on the first floor of the Public Safety Building.
A GoFundMe account has also been set up to help support the family.
