SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls resident Paul Erickson receives 84 months in federal prison for money laundering and wire fraud.
He is the one-time boyfriend of convicted Russian agent Maria Butina, who was deported to Russia.
Erickson was convicted of crimes unconnected to Butina, who had infiltrated the NRA and other conservative circles.
Erickson gets seven years for a fraudulent investment scheme.
He has requested the court that he be placed in home confinement because of a heart condition.
Erickson says it makes him more susceptible to the coronavirus.
