SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — With the start of the new month comes changes to current laws and new laws are added to the books.
Distracted driving has been an increasingly problematic issue.
Old laws state officers would have to pull you over for a different offense such as speeding if they saw you on an electronic device before issuing a citation.
However starting today a new law went into effect making cell phone use while driving a primary offense, meaning an officer can pull you over if you are on your cell phone.
