SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The city of Sioux Falls has launched its latest phase in a campaign targeting waste reduction and recycling.
The “It’s Easy to Make an Impact” campaign aims to educate the public on what they can, and can’t, put into the recycling bin.
One easy way to reduce waste is to remember a reusable coffee mug when you buy coffee on the go. You’ll help save paper and space in the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill.
Some stores also offer discounts.
Bringing your own mug instead of using a disposal cup makes an impact because not all disposal coffee cups are recyclable.
While you can recycle paper cups in our area, cups made from other materials like Styrofoam cannot be recycled. And the lids are not recyclable, so those have to be thrown in the garbage.
