SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — There are no new pending charges pending against Amir Beaudion in the kidnapping and death of Pasqalina Esen Badi.
However, Sioux Falls Police Captain David McIntire says Minnehaha and Lincoln County are working out jurisdictional issues.
“Jurisdiction matters as far as where a crime was committed,” McIntire said at today’s police briefing. “As the investigation continues, those are issues that have to be decided who’s going to run with that case and who’s going to take on the prosecutorial responsibilities of that case.”
Authorities Badi was abducted in Sioux Falls in Minnehaha County. Authorities found her body south of Sioux Falls in Lincoln County last week.
“One crime happening in one place, and if there’s a question about whether another crime connected to that has happened in one jurisdiction or another, that’s a discussion that prosecutors have to have with the investigators,” McIntire said.
Beaudion remains in jail on a different attempted kidnapping charge on a quarter of a million dollars bond.
