BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — 1 PM update: Road conditions have
improved on I-90. Now it’s wet and slippery from Alexandria to
Humboldt and scattered wet spots from Humboldt to Minnesota.
But, I-29 is a different story. From Dell Rapids to North Dakota, it is
still slippery with a lot of snow and ice cover on the freeway.
Highways 42, 262 and 81 north of 42 still have quite a few slipppery
spots. Otherwise, the highways south of I-90 are in pretty good shape.
North of I-90, most of the highways are still a mess.

“Roads are pure ice this morning and
very slippery.” That’s the word from the Brookings County Sheriff.
I-90 from Sioux Falls to Humboldt and I-29 from Sioux Falls to the
Dell Rapids exit are slippery with scattered ice. I-29 from Dell Rapids to
the North Dakota border is slippery with snow and ice on the road. U.S.,
state, and county highways also are littered with ice and snow to the
west, southwest and norhwest of Sioux Falls, as well. Check
