SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — From Brookings to Boston by way of Sioux Falls Regional Airport for 7-year-old Ryker Hovey.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation has granted his wish to see the Boston Bruins play.
His mother, Jillian Brochu, says on Facebook that the Brookings family is now in Boston and Ryker is so excited. He’ll see two games in Boston and meet his favorite player, goalie Tuuka Rask.
The boy had a big sendoff from the airport complete with a youth hockey guard of honor with hockey sticks raised in salute. Law enforcement officers escorted him to the airport and Ryker got to ride in a limousine.
Ryker suffers from a rare immune system disorder.
