PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota State Epidemiologist Josh Clayton says the Coronavirus keeps spreading.
“Right now, the World Health Organization has not declared this a pandemic, but we are very close to that.” Dr. Clayton tells Kelo Radio’s It’s Your Business Show with Bill Zortman.
Clayton says more cases are breaking out in more countries, increasing the odds for the U.S.
“It does increase the likelihood that we will see additional cases in the United States as well.”
Thankfully, there are still no confirmed Coronavirus cases in South Dakota. Clayton says if there is such a case in the coming weeks or months, that person would be immediately quarantined. State Health officials are in regular contact with hospitals and clinics.
