SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls area is in for one of its coldest nights of the year on Wednesday.
Wind chills in Sioux Falls are expected to drop to -39 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The city has already announced a two-hour delayed opening for schools and made bus rides free all day Thursday.
Authorities are reminding drivers to take care on the roads when dealing with wind and blowing snow.
The record low for a February 12 wind chill is -37 degrees, in 1955, per the NWS.
