VERMILLION, SD, (KELO.com)– Unversity of South Dakota’s President Sheila Gestring delivered her annual State of the University address on Sept. 26.
She said that she is looking forward to the future growth of USD.
During the address, Gestring announced plans to start building projects to expand the campus further and accommodate students’ needs.
She also talked about spreading the university through programs with Southeast Tech and creating a new USD Community College for Sioux Falls.
Gestring said that diversity in the State of South Dakota is changing as well. She reported that by 2032, the overall white student population would decrease from 86 percent to 74 percent.
Gestring said that she is excited for new plans to take hold and looks forward to the future.
