EDGEMONT, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says one person died and another was injured Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash west of Edgemont.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger sustained minor injuries.
Seat belts were not worn by either occupant.
The names of the two males involved are not being released pending notification of family members.

What: One-Vehicle Fatal Crash
Where: Coffee Flats Road and U.S. Highway 18
Eight miles west of Edgemont, S.D.
When: 9:41 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019
Driver: Male, 64, Fatal Injuries
Passenger: Male, 38, Minor Injuries
Vehicle: 2017 Polaris RZR Four-wheeler
EDGEMONT, S.D. – One person died and another person was injured Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash west of Edgemont.
Names of the two males involved are not being released at this time pending notification of family members. They were the only people involved.
A 2017 Polaris RZR four-wheeler was southbound on Coffee Flats Road when the 64-year-old driver lost control and the vehicle went into the ditch where it rolled. The driver and passenger, 38, were both thrown from the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger sustained minor injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is preliminary at this time.
