SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It’s not a “tell all” of former Mayor Mike Huether’s time in City Hall, but he says you’ll learn a lot more about “My Man Mike.”
Huether has written a book called, Serve. Lead. Win. He appeared on The Greg Belfrage Show today talking about it.
“I know not everybody’s a fan of Mayor Mike or this Huether guy,” Huether said. “It’s real, it’s genuine, I tried to give you a lot of me in the book.”
Sure, the book is about him, in part, but also how to be a better leader. Though geared to people in public service, he says there are lessons and ideas for people who lead teams, churches, organizations, or are in politics.
“My gosh, if you’re going to be in something, why not lead the way and really try to make things happen,” Huether said.
Despite a divided nation, he says government can get stuff done. He says he’s proof. He talks about if you can get 50 percent plus one, you’ve won. And if you 55 percent, you win by a landslide.
Also, the writing bug has bitten Huether.
“I’m already ready to start writing my second book,” he said. It would likely look at advice he’s gotten from others, Huether said on the program.
Huether says this book has already done well, ranked number one on Amazon’s new releases for political leadership and number two for new releases on leadership.
