SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls police said that the victim and suspect in last weekend’s homicide did not like each other, that there was “a history” with each other.
Max Bolden, 36, from Sioux Falls, is wanted on first and second-degree murder charges as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm in. He’s accused shooting Benjamin Donahue III, also from Sioux Falls, twice in the head near Club David, early Saturday morning.
To see if there was any public record of “bad blood” between Bolden and Donahue, KELO.com News researched their social media profiles. The accused, Bolden, did not have any social media accounts that KELO.com News could identify. The victim, Donahue, had a Facebook account.
On October 25, the day before the deadly engagement between the two, Donahue had a couple of posts that may be relevant.
At 7:44 a.m. Friday, he wrote on his Facebook account:
- “In case they thought I was lying about my aim wit big birtha so how much more dangerous am I wit a hand gun when i dont have to be seen at all (expletive deleted) betta stop playin wit me. This just food for thought!”
At 8:52 a.m., he wrote:
- “He ain’t done wit me yett……….”Then posted a graphic under it that said, “People think cause you humble, you soft. . . I will humbly beat yo MF (expletive deleted.)
His final post ever was at 6:09 p.m. and was a repost of a woman trying to get on a bus without the proper metro card or cash and change.
He also had earlier posts about a car he liked, jokes, and tennis shoes.
Some hours later, early Saturday morning, Donahue died from two gunshots to the head near 10th Street and Main Avenue.
Donahue’s Facebook page is now a memorial page. Several of his friends have written comments following his death.
