For the third consecutive week, an Augustana player earned Northern Sun conference Player of the Week honors.
Running back Jarod Epperson led the NSIC last week with 236 all-purpose yards in the Vikings’ 51-6 win at Minot State to notch the Offensive Player of the Week.
Epperson rushed for a season-high 156 yards, the top rushing performance in the NSIC last week. And he needed only six rushes to reach that mark, a 26 yards per rush average. His 94-yard rush is the second-longest in Augustana program history.
The freshman from Omaha also had a season-high 82 yards receiving. Epperson ranks sixth in total yards in the NSIC and ninth in the nation with an average of 7.1 yards per carry.
Two weeks ago, Augie place kicker Luis Guarita was the NSIC special teams player of the week for his three field goals against St. Cloud State in the snow, including the overtime game winner.
Last week, defensive back Kenneth Griffen earned the weekly defensive honor.
At 6-2, the Vikings have the second-best record out of 16 teams in the NSIC and host Concordia-St. Paul (5-3) on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Sioux Falls.
