PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Interstate 90 was to be closed at midnight Friday from Chamberlain, South Dakota to the Wyoming border. (12 a.m. CST (11 p.m. MST)
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the western portion of the state and winter storm warning for much of the rest of the state.
This system will bring heavy snow, strong winds, freezing rain, and below freezing temperatures creating difficult driving conditions with significant reductions in visibility.
Many highways are ice-covered.
