SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls’ bike trails just got a six-figure boost.
The city council unanimously approved a $200,000 project extending a bike trail from Legacy Park to Family Park on the northwest side of town. Councilor Greg Neitzert introduced the resolution at Monday’s meeting.
The city is paying for the trail with extra tax revenue already on hand. The influx of tax money has been higher than expected in Sioux Falls this year.
“Bike trails are a huge priority for citizens,” Neitzert said when the bill was being discussed. “This is a chance to keep the momentum going.”
Neitzert said the trail should be open in early 2021 if all goes according to plan.
