PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Gov. Kristi Noem says her plan–or at least the state’s slogan on meth–is working.
- Now that I’ve got your attention. Meth is a SERIOUS problem in SD. One that affects your son, daughter, husband, wife, parents, and grandparents… if (sic) affects YOU. Make this a conversation at your dinner table. Get on it and get it OUT!
However, much of the response on social media, in the national media, and even on KELO Radio’s The Greg Belfrage Show has either been critical, snarky or both.
One caller on Greg’s show was upset about the campaign for a couple of reasons. First, they said the “Meth. We’re on it.” slogan made a joke out of the problem. Second, they are dealing with a family member who is hooked on meth and they said it diminishes the scope and impact of the problem.
The Washington Post quoted a marketing professor in an article. They said that the campaign is a “colossal blunder.”
