SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A new study says Iowans are the fattest people in the Upper Midwest.
Nationally, the Hawkeye State ranked as the 14th fattest.
Meanwhile, South Dakotans were the second least fat in the Upper Midwest, according to the Wallet Hub study.
The Mount Rushmore State nearly cracked the top ten least fat states, coming in at 39th fattest–or 11th least fat.
Minnesota was the skinniest in the area at 46th.
The fattest state according to WalletHub is Mississipp. The skinniest is Utah.

WalletHub says they looked at the following factors to come up with their rankings: obesity and overweight prevalence rank, health consequences rank, and food and fitness rank.
