WASHINGTON (KELO.com) — South Dakota led the nation in the improvement of personal income from the second to third quarter of 2019.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, personal income shot up over 15 percent during the period.
In fact, most of the Upper Midwest saw growth in personal income in the third quarter. Sister Plains states Wyoming and Montana also improved, but not at the rate of their Midwestern counterparts.
Here are the increases from the BEA for regional states:
1. South Dakota–15.2 percent
2. North Dakota–13.8 percent
3. Iowa–10.6 percent
4. Nebraska–10.1 percent
5. Minnesota–5.8 percent
6. Montana–4.2 percent
7. Wyoming–1.9 percent
The increase for the nation as a whole during the period was 3.8 percent.
