SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Is the long-running summertime event JazzFest ending its nearly 30-year run?
According to a media report, the JazzFest Board issued a statement saying the music scene in Sioux Falls has changed.
“This growth, and other headwinds over the last few years including weather events, unforeseen artist cancellations, and increasing expenses cause us to pause and evaluate the model for the festival that we remain committed to in the future.”
They said the event was on “hiatus.”
However, in a call to Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society executive director Tryg Fredrickson, he said he was unaware that the group’s board had issued such a statement today.
The 2019 event was the 28th one held by the organization in Yankton Trail Park.
This is a developing story.
