SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police captured an alleged burglar and car thief this morning.
Police spotted the suspect in a stolen vehicle on the east side of town. The guy got out of the vehicle, fled, then tried to hide in or around two homes in the Clover and Prospect area.
The police turned loose a K9 unit on the man and he then surrendered.
The suspect, whose name the authorities have not released, is charged with burglary. He’s also facing possible burglary charges in three other jurisdictions.
Police recovered the stolen vehicle and it will be returned to its owner in Sioux City.

On 8-22-19 at 08:30am, officers with the SFPD located a stolen vehicle being driven on the east side of town. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, then tried to hide in or around at least two private homes near the area of Clover and Prospect. Units from SFPD and MCSO surrounded the area and a K9 Unit advised the suspect to surrender. He ultimately did so and was arrested for several counts of burglary. The vehicle was recovered and will be returned to the owner in the Sioux City area. Evidence of burglary/larceny from at least three jurisdictions has been recovered.
