YANKTON, S.D. (KELO.com) — Employers across the region continue to struggle to fill job openings.
During the quarterly meeting of Yankton Area Progressive Growth, C.E.O. Nancy Wenande said there were eight hundred forty-five open jobs in Yankton County, with one hundred seventeen of them in manufacturing.
Those numbers have been fairly steady over the past few years. Wenande says more people have to come to the area to fill those jobs.
Wenande says most of the open jobs have good base wages.
He says those open jobs put upward pressure on wages. Wenande says improvements in available housing also help drive the employment numbers.
