Every life lost to suicide is one too many. Behind every statistic is a name, a face, and a story that ended too soon. The Step Forward to Prevent Suicide walk is more than a community event—it’s a movement of compassion, awareness, and action. When we come together, we break the silence that keeps people suffering in the dark.
This year’s keynote speaker is Stefanie Kummer, who will share her personal story of loss after her 16-year-old son, Alex, died by suicide.
The event includes a remembrance ceremony honoring loved ones who have died by suicide, followed by a 1.5-mile walk through downtown Sioux Falls.
All funds raised at the event remain in the local area, supporting vital suicide prevention resources and services including....
