Sport Leads Working on Wellness Wednesday
As we turn from summer to fall—-footballs are in the air from every level, for the first time Sioux Falls hosts “2” professional golf events—one for the ladies and one for the men—–and we’ll share this morning—in our wellness show—something that makes those that chase the roosters in fall feel much better.
Travis Runya—South Dakota’s Game Fish and Parks—Senior Upland Game Biologist wrote the annual report. Why is this year’s peasant brood survey up 47% compared to 2017 but 41% lower than the 10 year average.
Adult bird and brood data showed roosters declined 11% from last year—while the number of hens increased 24%.
Most local areas are significantly below the 10 year average. Mitchell, Brookings, Sioux Falls and Yankton are not significantly different from the 10 year average.
We’ll talk at 9:07—and because of its importance—we’ll include it at 10:50 as well.
9:18—Dr. Max Reinecke—Reinecke Chiropractic will explain health wise why things change for us from summer to fall. Specifically a theme—the miracle of life, just the creation of life but how resilient and self-maintaining life is. Dr. Max will share that our bodies do a great job of coping with and making the best of whatever situation that our bodies are put in.
We di gave optometrists to check our vision, audiologists to check our hearing and chiropractors to check spinal subluxations.
9:32—a Sanford Sports Segment—Courtney Thompson is with us — she is an Olympic Volleyball player — how a member of the Sanford Pentagon Volleyball Academy coaching staff. The two time Olympic Volleyball player will be coaching players both in person and virtually. Courtney’s on the court resume is as good as you can find—and her personality she shares with kids will help her be a role model for players both on and off the court.
She was part of the University of Washington’s NCAA Championship where she won the Honda Sports Award given to the best collegiate female athlete. She competed for Team USA in the 2012 Olympics in London and 2016 in Rio and has a silver and bronze medal to show.
We’ll talk what she brings to the court and life for those in volleyball and what we do with our time on earth every day.
9:45—Toni Connors—Dirty Dog Spa is back with us.
We talked about the hunts that are coming up—-we know the annual pheasant count report gets people moving for training of their animals.
Toni is a groomer — she understands what it takes to keep the dogs happy – and we’ll share what is important for our canines.
The calendar change from summer to fall — means grooming is different— but little words of advice can be helpful and that is what we will do.
She had two episodes this summer in her office that got the media’s attention—saving a dog who went rigid — and now her office has gone thru CPR for animals.
