SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Public Health Director Jill Franken stressed the importance of social distancing Tuesday to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Franken called social distancing “the most important underlying factor” in the city’s effort to protect people from the novel coronavirus. She urged citizens to follow Mayor Paul TenHaken’s “Safer at Home” proclamation asking people to avoid all nonessential trips out of the house.
Franken said people can still head outside for a walk or exercise, but to “make sure you’re not walking in large groups of people.” She suggested walking six feet apart from someone if having a conversation while walking.
Sioux Falls businesses are not allowed to have more than 10 customers on their property at any time during the pandemic.
