SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Avera Health received its first supply of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine at 8:45 Monday morning.
But before being distributed from the loading dock, it was blessed by Benedictine and Presentation nuns who own the healthcare system.
At today’s City of Sioux Falls briefing on the coronavirus in the metro area, Avera Health’s Dr. David Basel said the Pfizer vaccine must stay super cold, at 70 to 80 degrees below zero.
He said the vaccine is one of the most effective he’s ever seen.
