SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society and the Bissell Pet Foundation have joined forces to “Empty the Shelter.”
Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation all adoption fees are at a reduced rate. The fee to adopt a dog is $25.00 and the adoption fee for a cat is now $5.00. The hope is to empty the shelter for the holidays so all furry friends have a permanent home to call their own. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is not the only shelter participating in the event, 134 shelters across 34 states were chosen by the foundation.
The event runs until Sunday, December 13th. To adhere to social distancing recommendations you will need to complete an application online to get pre-approved for the adoption. The application process is first-come, first-served. In the event, the furry friend you are interested in is adopted the humane society will contact you to let you know.
The humane society is open from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm 7 days a week.
