PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) – The U-S Senate inched closer to passing a new farm bill yesterday, with a party-line approval but the bill isn’t home yet.
Democrats are opposed to a provision to root out fraud in the supplemental food program.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune says it was a bipartisan effort but there are concerns about whether it can pass on the Senate floor.
The last Farm Bill to win approval was in 2018.
