Remembrance Ceremonies for the Victims of 9/11 Were Held Across the Country

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Remembrance ceremonies for the victims of the 9/11 attack on the United States were held across the country.

Terrorists hijacked commercial passenger planes: flying two into the twin towers at the World Trade Center, one that hit the Pentagon, and a fourth plane that crashed in rural Pennsylvania as passengers tried to regain control.

Former State Senator Brent Hoffman was in the Pentagon when it was struck.

Twenty-five years later, he carries the hope that Americans will be drawn together as they remember: “We all have a story that needs to be shared because that brings us together.  It unifies the American people in a way like nothing else does, and it recognizes the threat that we faced – and still face – simply because we’re Americans.”
