PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Otter Tail power and Xcel Energy have filed an application for a permit to build a 765-kilovolt transmission through eastern South Dakota into southern Minnesota.
The companies have held a number of open houses and say changes have been made in the proposed route.
The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will consider the application and is expected to take just over a year to decide the outcome.
