VERMILLION, SD (KELO.com) — There aren’t any Data Center projects planned for Vermillion right now, but the city’s Chamber of Commerce is opening the door to discussions on the issue. Vermillion Chamber President and CEO Jim Peterson fielded questions for over an hour at an event Thursday night. He pointed out the positive aspects of the centers, such as jobs and extra tax revenues for local governments and schools, but he also recognizes the concerns among the public over power and water consumption. Peter says he plans to raise the questions and concerns that surfaced in the meeting with local and area elected officials.
